These include times when we learn about the Christian message, times when we pray, times when we study the Bible, times when we discuss the issues of the day (and help when we can), times when we meet just to drink tea and chat!! Below are two of our older members at an anniversary dinner – still as beautiful as ever! And we especially like to celebrate those great moments in our Christian year – Christmas, Lent, Easter, Whitsun and Advent. The next pictures shows our Lenten Cross with all the sad symbols of Jesus crucifixion, then the transformed Easter Cross with these removed and replaced with the joyous flowers of the Resurrection.
The next picture shows the grave where Jesus was buried with the stone rolled back, the abandoned grave-clothes and no-one inside – well, not exactly no-one!!
The forthcoming programme of events in the church are the next item in the menu at the top of this page. We Like to remember God’s goodness to us every Harvest time, by collecting gifts for those less fortunate than ourselves. And here you see Ebute, Ene and their youngest son Oiyne at last year’s Harvest. The goods went to Mill Grove – a wonderful place that gives love and care to families and children in need.
You may already have met some of us as we ‘tour’ the district every year to collect during Christian Aid Week, or at our special coffee morning in aid of those involved in the ebola crisis. (One of our member’s family are in Sierra Leone).
And, of course, coming up before we know it, CHRISTMAS! Below is the sort of thing we can expect next Christmas – so be prepared!
