The wonderful truth of the Christian message is that it is for everyone. Jesus came, died and rose again from the dead for all – the weak, the strong, the poor, the rich, man, woman, black or white. The words below were written in 1917 by Frederick Lehman. But he never claimed to have authored them, and many years later he wrote
“These lines were found penciled on the wall of a patient’s room in an insane asylum after he had been carried to his grave”
Jesus, in dying, took our sins and our guilt upon himself, bearing his Father’s judgement for those sins. But, in descending into hell in our place, He broke its iron bars – He robbed death of its sting and the grave of its victory. Today, the risen Jesus will enter any life that invites him in. Even where all seems dark and lost his love brings peace and joy too great for our hearts to contain or our words to express. If you don’t believe me, read again and feel the joy behind the words of that man incarcerated in the loneliness of an asylum.
God says, ‘If you seek me, you will surely find me’.
